Harris Thajeb of PPPI Elected as New CAAAA Chairman

(Singapore, 8 April 2014) -At its Annual General Meeting held on 3rd April 2014 at Conrad Centennial Singapore, the Confederation of Asian Advertising Agency Associations (CAAAA) elected Mr. Harris Thajeb of PPPI (Advertising Agencies Association of Indonesia) as the new Chairman replacing Mr. Anthony Kang of 4As Singapore who stepped down after completing his two-year term.

Mr. Thajeb, who is also President Director & CEO of Dentsu Group Indonesia was grateful to members for the confidence they placed in him to lead the confederation in the next two years. He said the PPPI was one of the founding members of CAAAA, and he strongly believes that CAAAA will continue to progress and grow over the years. He further pledged to continue the good work done by his predecessor Anthony Kang of Singapore.

Immediate Past Chairman Mr. Anthony Kang, also a founding member of the confederation, said the CAAAA faced many challenges in its formative years. He is pleased to note that since its inception in 2008 the CAAAA has gained greater awareness and prominence with its activities as well as its association with reputed industry events like the Spikes Asia Advertising Festival and the APAC Effie Awards.

Secretary Mr Nagesh Ganesh Alai, Advertising Agencies Association of India
Treasurer Dato’ Mun Tan Yeong, Association of Accredited Advertising Agents, Malaysia

Ms Angela Ng, Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies of Hong Kong, SAR China
Mr Romie Chen, The Association of Accredited Advertising Agents of Taipei, Chinese Taipei
Mr Yan Jun, China Advertising Association
Mr Man-Suk Jhung, Korea Association of Advertising Agencies
Mr Anthony Kang, Association of Accredited Advertising Agents, Singapore (also the Immediate Past Chairman)
